FORMAS DE PEDRA was founded in 2008, with the object of extraction and commercialization of marble, and its headquarters are located in Pero Pinheiro, Sintra, in Portugal.
The company explores 2 marble extraction areas (quarries), located in the region of  Vila Viçosa, Alentejo,  also in Portugal. From these quarries 2 types of marble are extracted: the “Branco Cinza de Pardais” (“White Grey from Pardais”), a stone of white colour, with light grey veins, and the “Branco Venado de Pardais” (”White Veined from Pardais”), a stone of white/beige colour, with light brown and sometimes grey or reddish veins. The quality of both types of marble has already been certified, according to EN norms.
After the extraction, the company commercializes the marble not only in blocks, but also as finished product, in partnership with marble transformation companies, mainly located in the region of Pero Pinheiro, Sintra.
The marble that has neither the dimension nor the shape required for its commercialization in blocks, consisting in leftovers resulting from the extraction process, is used in the production of design objects, conceived mainly for hotels or home interiors and also as landscaping decoration.
The company has already registered, at EU level, the trademark of those design objects, “FORMAS DE PEDRA”.
The process of internationalization of FORMAS DE PEDRA began in 2015, with the participation in the exhibition “Natural Stone Show 2015”, which was followed, in 2016, with the participation in the “Saudi Build & Stone Tech 2016”, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The company was invited to exhibit its marble in “Casa Decor” editions of 2016, 2017 and 2018, in Madrid. The participation  in those events has proven to be successful, given the fact that it was followed by several proposals of interior decoration works.
Since last year, the company bas been exporting to China  blocks of  its  White Grey from Pardais marble.
