The ‘Bharat Innovates 2026’ initiative will take place in Nice, France, from 14-16 June 2026.
Bharat Innovates is a programme of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It is designed as a global accelerator for innovations from Indian Higher Education Ecosystem (HEls), aiming to build a long-term collaboration bridge between India’s innovation ecosystem (startups, HEls, labs and research parks) and global stakeholders (e.g. corporates, investors, incubators/accelerators, universities, research institutes, governments and overseas research parks and deeper industry linkages). Invitations for the maiden edition, Bharat Innovates 2026, have been extended to global leaders, CEOs, investors and universities. The event has been scheduled to coincide with the inauguration of the India-France Year of Innovation.
Bharat Innovates 2026 will take India’s top 100+ Deep-Tech startups and 15+ institutes to France to catalyse pilots, co-development, investments, research partnerships, manufacturing and market access. The event will showcase their achievements across 13 critical technology themes.
For Portuguese business representatives, the event offers a good opportunity to engage with a multitude of potential Indian partners at an easily accessible location in Europe (note that Nice has direct flight connections with Lisbon, Porto and soon also Funchal).
