The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion (GJEPC) is the apex body of trade sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India to promote exports of the gems and jewellery from India.
The industry is one of India’s leading foreign exchange earners and one of the fastest-growing sectors, accounting for 9.31% of India’s total merchandise exports during FY 2021-22. We are proud to share that the industry has grown remarkably over the last five decades, with exports rising from US$ 28 million in 1966-67 when the GJEPC was established to US$ 37.46 billion in FY 2022-23.
It may be noted that international trade shows in India plays a big part in bringing the overseas buyers and investors, which contributes directly to the export growth from India. India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) Premiere – organized annually by The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) at Mumbai, India, has grown over the years to become one of the largest Jewellery trade fairs in the world today with estimated 1850+ exhibitors| 3250+ stalls| 70000+ sq. metres of exhibition Area| 35000+ expected trade visitors | visitors from over 800+ cities in India & visitors from 80+ countries.
We are pleased to inform you that 39th edition of IIJS PREMIERE 2023 is happening in Mumbai from 3rd – 8th August 2023. IIJS Premiere 2023 has been approved & supported by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India. MoC&I has sanctioned financial grant under its Market Access Initiative (MAI) scheme regularly through the past many years.
